Anthropocene in Venice
Introducción al Curso
Venice is a symbol of climate change and the global environmental crisis. Venetians observe the tides surrounding them with growing concern. 15 interdisciplinary scholars take Venice as their case study to reflect on the historical unfolding of its human-natural nexus. The explorations stress the complexity of the problem as well as the possibility to gain knowledge through integrated approaches, offering an insight on the many challenges of the Anthropocene both as a concept and as a reality.

Learning about the Anthropocene, as a concept and as a cultural debate
Become acquainted with environmental-humanities approaches to ecological problems
Develop critical approaches and one’s own positioning relative to the debates about the nature-culture nexus

Learning how to relate a specific case–the geoanthropological history of Venice–with broader theoretical and comparative issues

A bachelor degree in humanities / social sciences / natural sciences is highly recommended to attend this course.
Formato del Curso
The course includes four teaching units divided in as many weeks. Each teaching unit will present a main topic that will be divided in its basic concepts through several videos.Reglas para la obtención de certificados y Exámenes

You can have the Certificate of Attendance after watching all video lectures and answering at least 7 questions out of 10 of each test correctly (you can retry each answer twice).
