Starting from the general principles of special pedagogy, the course shows the elements of educational interventions design, aimed to support the processes of school inclusion. In particular, the training interventions will provide the methodological basis for the correct formulation of tools expected by the legislation, including PEI (Individualized Educational Plan) and PDP (Personalized Learning Plan). A section of the course is dedicated to the use and construction of concept maps. The [MOOC] is part of the "Introduction to sensory disabilities" pathway of the 1st level University Master in "Training for the communication assistant and for the personal autonomy of students with sensory disabilities", produced by University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.

At the end of the course, the students will have acquired knowledge about the principles and paradigms of special pedagogy and the overall development of the individuals with sensory disabilities,  with their specific learning disabilities, as well as communication and relationship disorders. They will be adequately aware of the use of concept maps in teaching and will be able to read correctly programming documents such as the IEP (Individualized Education Program) and the PLP (Personalized Teaching Plan).

The course will be delivered through online lessons. The macro-topics covered will be divided into subtopics that will be displayed through individual video lectures.
