The course describes the basic elements of pharaonic culture, according to the following subjects: 
  1. Pharaonic Egypt: geography, chronology, and attitude to the ancient civilization by the classical culture up to the birth of Egyptology. 
  2. History, sources for the reconstruction of pharaonic Egypt. Basic history of ancient Egypt. 
  3. Monumental architecture and its cultural meaning. 
  4. The culture of the image.

A basic knowledge of the ancient eastern Meditterranean and the basic skill in the historical approach is requested.
