Current legislation and inclusion
About the Course
The course introduces the recent legislation regarding disability inclusion into the school system and describes the current elements of the legislation in terms of accessibility of school textbooks. A careful reflection will be presented on the Law 8 October 2010, n. 170 "New rules on learning disabilities in schools" which for the first time in Italy recognizes dyslexia, dysgraphia, dysorthography and dyscalculia as specific learning disorders, hereinafter referred to as “DSA". At the end of the course, the student will have acquired basic knowledge of the legislative elements, the network of territorial services, institutions and their evolution, the legislation on disability and special educational needs (SEN) as well as the main compensatory tools and dispensation measures.
